The assistant to the state naturalist, Holly Taylor, and the Friends of Rugby State Natural Area invite you to a free guided First Day Hike to celebrate the 2022 New Year! Winter hiking is just the best…it’s easier to see the landscape through the trees and no bugs!
FREE, but please register in advance for the hike at this site: https://tnstateparks.com/events/details/#/?event=hike-at-rugby-state-natural-area-2022-first-day
Meet at the Historic Rugby Visitor Centre Porch (1331 Rugby Parkway, Rugby, Tennessee, 37733) at 11:00 a.m. (Eastern Time). Bring a daypack, water and snacks to eat on the trail. This is a 3-4 mile, moderate but family-friendly hike. Dogs on leash are welcome. Dress in layers for the weather.
After the hike, take some time to stroll around this really cool historic town site. Bring a picnic for lunch.
