Hike with State Naturalist Randy Hedgepath
SATURDAY | Mar. 21
10 AM Eastern, Rugby Visitor Centre
Friends of the Rugby State Natural area hosts this free guided Springtime hike in memory of the late Eric Wilson (pictured below), who helped build many of Rugby’s trails on state land. These moderate hikes range from 1.5 to 3 miles long. We will follow a route similar to last year, using both RSNA trails (Massengale, Allerton) and trails that Eric helped maintain (Uffington & Historic in the Big South Fork Park). Wear sturdy shoes, bring water and snacks, and watch the weather. This week’s special guest leader is State Naturalist Randy Hedgepath. FREE! Meet at the Historic Rugby Visitor Centre at 10 a.m. Eastern, for this easy hike — Randy calls them “saunters” — of 2.5 to 3 miles. Bring water and snacks and dress appropriately for the weather.
