Hike with State Naturalist Randy Hedgepath

Every third Saturday of the month, the Friends of the Rugby State Natural area hosts a free guided hike. These moderate hikes range from 1.5 to 3 miles long. Wear sturdy shoes, bring water and snacks, and watch the weather **. This week’s special guest leader is State Naturalist Randy Hedgepath. FREE! Meet at the Historic Rugby Visitor Centre at 10 a.m. Eastern, for this easy hike — Randy calls them “saunters” — of 2.5 to 3 miles. **Remember that ticks and chiggers are still active, so use insect repellent or wear permethrin-infused clothing. Check skin & clothing to remove ticks promptly after hiking. And boots, long pants & hats are advisable even in late summer.
