Hike with State Naturalist Randy Hedgepath
SATURDAY | JAN. 18
10 AM Eastern, Rugby Visitor Centre
Every third Saturday of the month, the Friends of the Rugby State Natural area hosts a free guided hike. These moderate hikes range from 1.5 to 3 miles long. For this one, we’ll use High Street – Highland Road onto Cox Branch Trail and do Kellogg’s Loop Trail. “We’ll see a rich assortment of Cumberland Plateau evergreen plants along these trails and enjoy the sight and sound of fast moving water in Cox Branch, Little Creek and the White Oak. Be prepared for light showers,” said hike co-leader Benita Howell.
Wear sturdy shoes, bring water and snacks, and watch the weather to know how to dress. This week’s special guest leader is State Naturalist Randy Hedgepath. FREE! Meet at the Historic Rugby Visitor Centre at 10 a.m. Eastern for this hike — Randy calls them “saunters.”
