SATURDAY | Sept. 26
10:00 AM Eastern, Rugby Visitor Centre

Help celebrate National Public Lands Day with a guided hike. This moderate hike ranges from 1.5 to 3 miles long. We meet at 10:00 AM Eastern in front of the Historic Rugby Visitor Centre. Wear sturdy shoes, bring water and snacks, and watch the weather **. This week’s special guest leader is Holly Taylor, assistant state naturalist with Tennessee State Parks. **Remember that ticks and chiggers are active, so use insect repellent or wear permethrin-infused clothing. Check skin & clothing to remove ticks promptly after hiking. And boots, long pants & hats are advisable even in late summer.

RSNA boasts beautiful slopes and loops underneath towering umbrella magnolia and hemlock. By December, hiking weather is perfect with no bugs but plenty of views through the leafless trees.
