The Big South Fork Ranger Station is open again for the summer season. It is located in the Board of Aid building in the center of Rugby, next door to the Rugby Commissary. New 2015 Ranger Natasha Hamby Klug will lead hikes each Saturday and Sunday morning at 9:30/8:30 Central to the historic Gentlemen’s Swimming Hole on the Clear Fork River within the park. Just meet her at the trailhead opposite Rugby’s Laurel Dale Cemetery. The National Park Service ranger station is open 9-5 Eastern each Saturday & Sunday through Labor Day, as well as this Monday for Memorial Day. It features archival photos of Rugby’s part of the national park from the 1880s to the 1940s, as well as park and area information. You can even buy back country camping permits!
