Welcome to the Morgan County Tourism Alliance’s Mountain Laurel Walks! This new initiative features hikes on twenty four different trails throughout Morgan County (and adjacent areas) during the peak Mountain Laurel blooming season. This year the free guided walks will be held from May 16 through June 6.

Rugby’s own trails will be featured on two consecutive Saturdays: May 16 at 2:30 pm, Eastern (after the big kick-off in Wartburg) and May 23 at 9:30 am, ET. Check back as more guided walks may be offered in Rugby.

You can always visit Rugby on your own and see the incomparable beauty of these evergreens in bloom. They are especially lush and thick as you walk down to the creeks and rivers, and often grow in similar terrain as our native rhododendron.

Be sure to be in Wartburg at their new Visitor Center for the Morgan County Mountain Laurel Walks Festival on May 16 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm ET. There will be live music, crafts, food and more to enjoy during the festivities!
