Join Historic Rugby as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday, March 15th, with a Pub night dinner at the Harrow Road Cafe.

 

 

Our Special Pub Night Menu will consist of:

Spinach and Artichoke Dip:  $5.99
“Bollocks” Mozzarella Sticks: $4.99
Loaded Potato Skins w/ cheese and bacon bits: $4.99

 

Entrees:
All served with choice of soup or salad
Soup: Brotchan Roy: A traditional (an ancient) Irish Leek and Oatmeal Soup

 

Corn Beef and Cabbage: Slow Roasted Corn Beef and Cabbage served with Potatoes, and Carrots  (7.99)

 

St. Patty’s Shepherd’s Pie: A true Irish take on our Harrow Road classic- roasted leg of lamb with gravy and roasted vegetables, covered with mashed potatoes
and cheese (9.99)

 

Fish and Chips: Another special holiday take on one of our other Harrow Road classics- hand beer battered cod filets fried and served with hand cut chips and cole slaw (8.99)

 

A surprise St. Patty’s Dessert, our usual sampling of homemade desserts, and beer and wine specials will also be available for purchase.

Yes, we know Thanksgiving has not yet past, but reservations are now being taken for Historic Rugby’s Annual Christmas Dinner. This Rugby tradition will be held as part of our larger Christmas celebration Christmas at Rugby on December 14, 2013.
This Year’s Menu 
Appetizer
 Spinach and Artichoke Dip Bread Bowl
Cocktail
Cranberry Champagne (limit 2/person)
Soup
Creamy Tomato
Main Course:
Choice of Roasted Goose Breast w/ caramelized apples
OR Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon
Sides:
  Asparagus, New Potatoes with Pearl Onions, Fried Corn
and Famous Harrow Road Spoon Rolls
Dessert:
Choice of Plum Pudding or Traditional Apple Stack Cake
Price for this 4 course meal is $29/person and includes 1 glass of wine or bottle of beer, and soft drinks of choice.  Additional alcoholic beverages are extra.

Seatings for dinner will be at 5:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. EST.

Christmas at Rugby will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. EST on December 14, 2013. Price for this event is: Members- $9/Adults, $4/Children, Non-members- $12/Adults, $5/children. Further details will be forth coming in our December newsletter.

 Thanksgiving Marketplace, Friday, November 29
On Friday, November 29, 2013, Rugby will kick off the Holiday shopping season with Thanksgiving Marketplace. The Shoppes of Rugby will be featuring a variety of artisans and crafters as well running some specials of their own. Newbury House, meanwhile, comes to life with a British Cream Tea. Price for the tea is $10, and reservations are still available for the 3:00 p.m. EST seating of the Tea, they be made by calling 423-628-2441 or emailingrugbylegacy@highland.net.

November 10 brings a new schedule of hours as well: Open for breakfast, lunch & dinner Thursday-Saturday, breakfast/lunch until 4 Eastern (3 Central) Sundays. Cafe serves up music, new manager

 

Historic Rugby marks its 33rd year of operating the Harrow Road Café with a new manager, April Griffie, (above) of Lafollette, TN.

She’s been crafting a new menu we’ll unveil shortly. Look for more British specialties, as well as favorites of the Cumberland Plateau. ”I want to make it more family focused, something for everyone with every taste – all the way from steak and seafood lovers to sandwiches,” April said.

In the meantime, come by for breakfast or lunch (daily) and dinner (Thursday-Saturday). Friday nights are no-cover live music:

This month the Harrow Road Cafe continues our summer line-up of ongoing entertainment and fun!!!

Friday Night Music
As usual the cafe will offer weekly entertainment from a variety of musical acts. Notable this month will be Barbara Carnicelli, a Flordia resident and Jamestown, TN native, who will be joining us for a special once-a-year performance.
This month’s complete line-up is:

As always music starts at 6 and goes until 9 (5-8 p.m. Central). Dinner Specials offered weekly.

Bingo Nights Bring Winners …
The Harrow Road will continue our monthly Bingo Nights this month on Wednesday August 21. Bingo Starts at 6 (5 Central). The cost of play is simply purchase of at least one beverage or food item. We’ll have a special Bingo Night Appetizer and Light Fare menu, and as always wine and ale will be available for purchase. Remember, it’s white elephant style so bring an item to add to the prizes!

Special Café Hours for
Cumberland Byway Meetings
The Alliance for the Cumberlands is sponsoring the new Cumberland Historic Byway Corridor project. And they’re using Rugby as their home base for planning! Public meetings will be held here in Rugby at the Community Building on Monday August 19, Wednesday August 21, and Thursday August 22. The Harrow Road will be open until 7 p.m./6 Central on Monday the 19th and Wednesday the 22nd for anyone who wants to grab dinner before attending the meetings. That Thursday, as always, closing is 8 p.m./7 Central.

The Cafe has daily lunch & dinner specials. Our menu is also full of great items, from British-style Shepherd’s Pie to comforting Steaks, Fried Shrimp or Baked Tilapia.New on the Beverage Menu…  We now have Abbey Ale from Cooperstown, N.Y., just $5. New wines include 2 from New Zealand, “Beach House” red or white. (Red’s 75% shiraz, 20% mourvedre & 5% viognier. White’s 80% sauvignon blanc & 20% Semillon.) Also, a new California merlot from Barefoot. All make a fine meal even better!
